World Harvest Prayerline began in the 1970’s under the direction of Dr. Lester Sumrall. He once said, “There is no power known to man more effective than the prayers of a God-fearing people.” He believed this so firmly that he put this belief into action by establishing World Harvest Prayerline.
Prayerline serves as a twenty-four hour help line with the Christian emphasis of prayer and provides a source of hope to those feeling lost and distressed. On average, about three hundred people a day, from around the world, contact Prayerline via phone, email and mail. Their needs range from family issues, to finances, to emotional issues, to health concerns. The staff on the Prayerline truly love God and all His people. Many have seen the difference it makes to talk with a prayer partner about their problems and receive agreement through prayer.
Through the years, Prayerline has proven an important source of encouragement for both believers and those seeking a relationship with God. World Harvest Prayerline will always strive to uphold the principles of its founder by offering a compassionate, listening ear to those in need 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. “…if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” -Matt. 18:18.
